How to read a solar quote

A good quote makes the assumptions visible. Here are the numbers to compare before you sign.

Start with your energy use

Look for at least 12 months of electricity use, not only a single bill. Your system should be sized around expected annual demand and any planned changes, such as an EV.

Check production assumptions

Ask how the estimate accounts for roof direction, pitch, shade, and local weather. A production range is more useful than a single perfect-year number.

Compare the full scope

Confirm equipment, permits, electrical work, monitoring, warranties, and post-installation support. The lowest upfront price may leave important work outside the proposal.
